The narrative touches on an old technology: the number station. A code is read aloud over a specific radio frequency, which can be decoded by a listener who has a one time decoding pad. The technology was used to send secret instructions to agents around the world.

The title sequence introduces us to the history of the stations and technology with a montage of archival imagery and motion graphics.
